Knowledgeable and comprehensive tutor.

Julie helped me greatly with conceptualizing types of pointers and linked lists by working through class problems with me. She walked through problems step by step, teaching me about debugging tips along the way and drew pictures so I com plus better understand concepts. Her tutoring helped me understand topics as a whole and gave me a better understanding of how to work through errors and bugs.

I really enjoyed working with you on your C college course. You picked just the right amount of work to cover during the last session we did for your exam review. You have a great grasp on coding and I know you will go far in this area. Glad I could help you to better help yourself! That is indeed my goal! It really makes my day when I can do that for someone.

Fantastic Tutor!

My son is a university student taking a challenging Computer Vision course. He needed some help with an assignment, but several Computer Vison tutors who I contacted said that they were not familiar with the concepts covered. Julie was able to help my son, who said she could clearly explain difficult concepts. He also said that she was also very patient and friendly. I would highly recommend Julie if you are looking for a great tutor!

Tutor responded:

Thanks Doug! Josh was a pleasure to work with. I'm glad I was able to help. Image processing is something I enjoyed in school and enjoy helping students with.

Patient, helpful and knowledgeable

Julie helped understand concepts I was not familiar with. She repeated many times until I understood. I valued the patience as I am new to programming concepts. She has gone above and beyond to help and make sure I understand.

Tutor responded:

Thanks Leo. It's been fun working with you. Hopefully I've helped you to help yourself with your C++ coding via teaching you how to use the debugger and in explaining various concepts like dynamically created arrays of structs, structs within structs and arrays within structs. I was glad to hear you were making great progress on your own since our last session!

helpful beyond wildest expectations

Even before our first session I could tell Julie is an outstanding tutor (and teacher): her advance prep was more thorough than perhaps even the professor's, and the session itself covered way more ground than I had dared to expect possible. Julie followed up with a lengthy, very helpful summary of what we covered, and has been in frequent touch with clarifying tips, resources, and general support. I already feel much more prepared to get through this difficult class (what I have thought of for years as "my Waterloo") thanks entirely to Julie's expertise, warm and accessible teaching style, foresight into next steps, and generally reassuring vibe. On top of all that, Julie has gone out of her way to secure suitable meeting spots in locations that minimize MY travel time, even without being asked! I feel as if I have hit the jackpot with my lucky connection to Julie and her professional services.

Thanks Lisa! Hoping to allay your math anxiety as much as possible. It's been great fun working with you thus far. I think that by the end of this course, if you get the general idea of how and why various statistical techniques are used, you should be in great shape going forward. You're doing a great job in absorbing and implementing new ideas and tools thus far!

Excellent tutor for teaching CS and ML concepts

We had a fantastic experience with Julie! She provided a comprehensive and engaging introduction to machine learning. Despite the complexity of the material, including algorithms like gradient descent and CNN, Julie made the lessons accessible and interesting. Julie also went above and beyond, dedicating hours of preparation and refining the content to ensure it was appropriate for the tutoring session. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of AI.

Tutor responded:

Thanks PK. It was a challenge putting together the materials so as to balance the high level overview with some lower level detailed concepts, to try and give your daughter a good feel for things, based on the list of topics you gave me. She is very bright and asked some great questions so that was very rewarding for me. I wish her the best going forward. She has a bright future!

Great teacher

Julie is an excellent tutor. We covered Natural language processing (NLP), and she created a Google Doc explaining the material in more depth and providing examples of what I was learning. Additionally, she is very responsive and will try to accommodate you on short notice.

Ayram, 1 lesson with Julie
Tutor responded:

Thanks Ayram. It was fun to work with you, go through your problem and give you pointers on the meanings and examples of the NLP techniques to be applied. I felt it important to point out the need to weigh the accuracy versus run time of a couple of those techniques, even though that was not asked about, it was one of the most important things to consider in that problem.

Python application in statistics

She is very detailed in her explanations of statistics and Python functions. Julia responded quickly to my lesson request, which was very important to me, especially since I was especially looking for someone local. I learned a lot from her in a short period of time which is a support I needed due to my time constraints. I will continue working with Julia and definitely recommending her for scripting languages, and mathematics.

Tutor responded:

Thanks Tanja. I enjoyed working with you and helping to clarify such ideas as the beauty of the Central Limit theorem for approximating population information from the sample. I do like how your Professor organized the course to implement visualizations via the Python platform to give better intuition and concrete examples of how various statistical applications can be realistically used.

Supportive tutor

Julie was incredibly persistent and supportive in helping me debug my Assembly code. She not only guided me through the debugging process but also provided valuable insights on how I could improve my approach. I truly appreciated her dedication and the effort she put into helping me.

Tutor responded:

Thank you Abhigya. I enjoyed working with you. Glad to pass on info on the studio ide debugging process to you. This should empower you in any language that uses studio (and other ides are similar as well as far as the debugging process). It was fun digging into the Assembly code and working through algorithm implementation issues with you.

What a great tutor!

I would like to recommend Julie as I found her to be a wonderful statistics tutor. Her subject matter acumen and approach to explaining the concepts cuts to the chase and helped with subject understanding and potential applications. My focus area of concern dealt with ANOVA testing modeling. Julie brought to the session some great data samples helping illustrate function, approach, and comparative use of the F statistic for null hypothesis validation. Julie’s Lesson Review provided a comprehensive summary of what we covered in our discussions / session. I found Julie to be patient and willing to answer my questions. She made my learning experience fun… As such, I would recommend her for anyone’s tutoring needs.

Bill, 1 lesson with Julie
Tutor responded:

Thanks Bill for your recommendation. I hope you found the excel worksheet with the ANOVA demo done by hand, and the steps to use the Analysis Toolkit to get the exact p-value useful.

Knowledgable and patient tutor

I would like to thank Julie for guiding me through the nuances of the internship processes in the tech industry. Her extensive experience helped me refine my resume and her valuable insights helped me gain more confidence in my career prospects.
